Plant Project Manager Location: Atlanta State/Territory: Georgia Department: Facilities Program Mgmt Group Description Plant Project Manager POWER Engineers, Inc Facilities Business Unit, Program Management Department, is currently seeking a Plant Project Manager to work for our client at their site in Covington, GA. This assignment will be full time. Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities The project manager will lead and manage all functions and activities of plant projects reporting to the plant Engineering Manager. This position will partner with key plant and corporate stakeholders to implement and drive plant projects that involve safety, packaging engineering, process engineering, reliability, environmental, and technology that relate to food production. The responsibilities include the development, implementation, and administration of the plant's capital plans, with support from others in the plant. This position will provide a support role to the plant Engineering Manager for responding to the technical and project needs of the plant. Responsibilities: Manage and drive engineering/capital projects from conception to project close-out through leading the execution of plant projects, as well as interfacing with operations, maintenance, and other engineering team resources. Manage the plant projects closely - execute, monitor and ensure projects are completed in scope, on budget, and on time. Work with plant procurement to solicit and tabulate bids from OEMs, contractors, and any other equipment or services needed. Control capital spend and provide timely forecasting to the plant Engineering Manager. Interact with operations and plant maintenance resources to solicit input on project success criteria. Act in the Construction Management role when implementing plant projects. This includes attending and managing weekly contractor update meetings and maintain contractor agendas. Responsible for safety and adherence to plant GMPs. Effectively leverage corporate subject matter experts and other engineering resources for support. Required Education/Experience: BS in Engineering required. MS Engineering or MBA preferred, but not required 10-15 years in engineering roles, preferably in the food manufacturing or related industry Recognized technical abilities and practical experience Mastery of project management fundamentals and best practices for project initiation, project planning, project execution, close-out. PMP Certification preferred, but not required Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Effectively communicates and builds relationships. Makes complex information clear and compelling, presents effectively and promotes cross-functional communication Desired Education/Experience: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) State of Georgia preferred. Software familiarity with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Prolog cost control and document management system by Trimble, and/or Primavera P6 & Contract Manager is preferred OSHA 30 certified CII Front End Planning best practices knowledge is preferred At POWER Engineers, Inc. you can have a rewarding career on every level.
