The Director will oversee the Engagement Department, focusing on strategic marketing, donor relations, fundraising, and communications that reflect GHF's mission and core values. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will collaborate with a passionate and driven team, taking the lead on building partnerships, increasing GHF's visibility, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability through effective fundraising efforts.

We're a nonprofit organization, working on the front lines of nonpartisan policy change and community health, with ambitious goals for 2024 and beyond. We don't have all the answers, and we don't expect you to either. What we do expect is a leader who is resourceful, passionate, and committed to advancing GHF's mission.

Strategic Marketing & Communications (20%): You'll oversee all external communications strategies and work alongside the Strategic Communications and Content Development Managers to enhance GHF's visibility.

Grant Writing & Compliance (10%): Lead GHF's grant writing efforts, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with funding requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with GHF's financial goals and mission.
  • Build and nurture relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic foundations.
  • Lead grant writing efforts to secure funding from a variety of sources, ensuring compliance and reporting.
  • Oversee strategic marketing campaigns to increase visibility and public engagement.
  • Manage donor communications, ensuring timely, meaningful updates and regular engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Content teams to execute campaigns that reflect GHF's brand and mission.
  • Work with Purpose Possible (contracted grant writers) to identify and apply for grant opportunities.
  • Represent GHF in donor meetings, events, and conferences.

What We Expect From You:

  • Proven Leadership: 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role, with a focus on nonprofit fundraising, donor management, and communications.
  • Fundraising Expertise: A successful track record of raising funds, writing grants, and building long-lasting donor relationships.
  • Marketing Savvy: Experience in strategic marketing and overseeing public relations efforts in a nonprofit setting.
  • Grant Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to research, write, and secure grants from various funding sources.
  • Collaboration: A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work across departments to drive results.
  • Self-Driven: You take ownership of your work and proactively pursue goals without needing close supervision.
  • Accountability: You hold yourself and your team to the highest standards, following through on commitments and responsibilities.
  • Positive Attitude: You bring optimism and a solutions-oriented approach to challenges, encouraging your team to do the same.
  • Passionate: You are deeply committed to advancing health equity and creating healthier futures for all Georgians.
  • Data-Driven: You make decisions based on data, track progress, and continuously improve processes for greater impact.
  • Georgia Residency: Must be a Georgia resident and available to work 2 in-office days per week in our Atlanta office.

Preferred Skills:
